I condemn in its entirety the call on the Governor by Harris Chuma for the arrest of Rev Fr Obimma ,Ebube Muo Nso, on the allegation of flouting the newly signed COVID-19 Law of Anambra State.
Harris Chuma alleged in his press release that Rev Fr Obimma is holding weekly Prayers for large congregations without observing the COVID-19 rules and regulations.
It's important to restate that Governor Obiano did not place ban on Church activities.
The Governor clearly stated that Church activities can go on but that it must be with the observation of WHO rules and regulations for the prevention of the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus.
The best thing Harris Chuma should have done is to alert government for a discreet investigation of how worshippers conduct themselves at the Adoration worship ground of Ebube Muo nso to know if the Rev. Fr and worshippers are actually flouting the COVID-19 rules and regulations.
Another thing that I condemn in Harris Chuma press release is the caption of his press release.
The caption is misleading and did not portray the content of the message.
When a reader come across the press release, the person may erroneously believe that Governor Obiano arrested Ebube Muo nso whereas Harris Chuma that is behind the press release is advising the Governor to effect his arrest.
I humbly quote his press release caption "Governor Obiano Arrest Fr. Ebube Muo Nso Now!" .
I feel the appropriate caption is supposed to be "Governor Obiano should arrest Ebube Muo nso now!".
I advise him to rephrase the caption of his press release.
Well, Governor Obiano is not Nyesom Wike of River State.
He has his way of doing things and ndi Anambra like his approach to issues.
When the need arises for him to use his sledgehammer, he will do that and he is not the type that can be coerced to do things to please anybody.
