How To Link Your Phone Numbers With NIN

How to link your phone numbers with NIN as stated recently NCC has been shared by Nigeria online news.

Nigeria online news recalls that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Wednesday gave the country’s telecom operators two weeks to block all SIM cards that are not registered with National Identity Numbers (NINs).

This online news outlet understands that if you do not, your line will be blocked or disconnected before December 31, 2020.

However, to avoid entering a new year with a locked sim, please read this article carefully.

What is NIN?

NIN is a set of eleven digits assigned to a person, by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), after a successful registration.

Enrollment consists of recording a person’s demographic data and capturing ten (10) fingerprints, head-to-shoulders facial image, and digital signature.

The information is used to collate existing data in the National Identity Database to confirm that there is no previous entry of the same data.

How to get your NIN?

If you have registered for your NIN, you must have your ballot with you.

However, if you have lost it, you must pay N500 via REMITA at any bank closest to you; Provide your Refer Teller to any NIMC Enrollment Center (ERC) near you and request a NIN receipt printout.

Alternatively, you can use the NIMC USSD service to retrieve it by following these steps:

How to get your NIN

Dial * 346 #; From the options displayed, select “NIN Retrieval”, by typing ‘1’, if you are using the same phone number that you registered with for your number.

Follow the steps shown on your screen and provide the required inputs

Note: Use of this service attracts N20 (deducted from your phone credit balance).

However, Glo users may encounter some difficulties, a message from the service provider around 10:53 am today indicated that their subscribers would not be able to retrieve NINs for now:

The message says: “The code to verify your NIN is * 346 in the registered mobile number. This service costs N20. However, you will not be able to get your NIN back on Glo for now. Sorry for the inconvenience.”

How to link your phone number to your NIN

Linking your phone number to your number is very easy.

For MTN users, just dial * 785 # and do it in seconds.

Airtel – Dial * 121 * 1 #

Glo: Text REG to 746

You can also visit the nearest office of your service provider (either M@TN, Glo, 9mobile and Airtel) to register/link your NIN.

Just go with NIN and your SIM package. If you don’t have your SIM package, you should probably be prepared to make an affidavit.

To be more sure, you can call your service provider’s customer service.

FG, banned stuff and how border was reopened

FG lists banned items even as borders are reopened

As President Buhari ordered that the country’s borders be opened, the FG noted that ban on the importation of poultry, rice, and other products remains in force.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and Planning, Zainab Ahmed, confirmed this.

Ahmed disclosed this while speaking to journalists after the Federal Executive Council’s meeting on Wednesday, presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.

President Buhari joined the meeting virtually from his hometown, Daura, Kastina State.

“The ban on the importation of rice, poultry, and other banned products still subsists and will be implemented by the border patrol team,” Ahmed said.

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo, also stressed that the problem of smuggling would be tackled effectively after this ban.

“The issue of smuggling of rice to the country has reduced drastically. We are hoping that our agencies will be able to sustain that, so also is the issue of poultry smuggling.

“Also, very important is the issue of importation of small arms and weapons into the country that also has stopped,” Adebayo said.

President Buhari, in August 2019, ordered the closure of all borders in the country.

Approach matters alot, Azobugu reacts to sealing of businessed in Anambra State

*Sealing of Businesses in Anambra Over Tax Drive: Azubogu Calls For Dialogue*

*- Says strategy ill-timed; businesses yet to recover from COVID-19 lockdown interruption*

*A federal lawmaker, Engr. Chris Emeka Azubogu* has described as disturbing, the reported closure of some markets in Anambra by a Task Force said to be working for the State Government on tax related matters.

*The lawmaker, who spoke through his media office, explained that closure of markets or businesses at a time most businesses are yet to recover from the devastating effect of the COVID-19 lockdown is not only ill-timed but would appear insensitive.*

It will be recalled that Azubogu had earlier, in his August new month message, while calling for post lockdown job-driven policy direction, noted that *"this is not the time to increase taxes / levies but a time to help businesses grow and create jobs”.*

The lawmaker who currently represents Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo federal constituency in the House of Representatives reiterated that most businesses are still struggling to survive in the post COVID -19 lockdown economy, adding that some of them had used part of their business capital to keep body and soul together during the lockdown.

*"I believe that our state government should, as a matter of policy adjustment, meet with these business owners to sort out whatever disagreements there are, instead of forcefully locking up their shops at this critical time. Government should bear more the burden brought about by COVID-19 lockdown; not pass same to dying or struggling businesses that needs government support to survive” he said.*

*Engr. Azubogu* counseled the state government to focus more on how to cut down cost of governance as a way of cushioning the sharp drop in revenue and not force the burden on already weakened businesses.

*His words:*

*"I believe that the state Government should cut down cost of governance as a strategy for surviving in the troubled post-lockdown economy. Yes, Government at all levels are faced with shortfalls in their revenue projections occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic; but shifting the burden to businesses, to the extent of closing some business outlets in the state, is not a good one for a state that is hungry for businesses and job creating platforms in the face of post COVID-19 economy challenges".*

The University of Nigeria Nsukka trained Engineer, nicked named #MrProject by constituents appreciative of his sterling performance, stressed that governments, in the post COVID-19 lockdown economy, should be more concerned on how to retain businesses operating in their states, instead of closing existing ones.

*Consequently, he appealed to Gov. Willie Obiano to direct the relevant ministries and their respective commissioners to resolve whatever issues that led to closure of markets by the state task forces.*

"My point is that the timing of this enforcement is in conflict with the economic realities on ground occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic; and I want this resolved. *I appeal to His Excellency, Gov. Willie Obiano* to direct those concerned to find a way to navigate our state economy away from the red line to a point of safety where private businesses will be strong enough to thrive and create jobs for our people" he concluded.

İt's laughable for anybody to say that Governor Obiano suspended the 13 renegade monarchs for visiting president buhari

I laugh at the stupidity of those that will believe the cock and bull story that Governor Obiano Obiano suspended the 13 renegade monarchs for visiting President Buhari to commend him for his administration developmental strides in Southeast.

The fabricated story can only fly in their foolish imagination.

I will also say that those that visited President Buhari Chief of Staff with the uncultured political monkey called Arthur Eze are not traditional rulers as at the time they met with him.

It's important for me to go back a little for people to know the genesis of the man made crisis that led to the suspension of the 13 traditional rulers.

That crisis was ignited by Peter Uyanwa former traditional ruler of Ukwulu because of his longer throat and love for ill gotten wealth.

In a bid to do the evil bidding he was contracted to do by Obiora Okonkwo , a PDP governorship aspirant, Peter Uyanwa used his position as Chairman of Anambra central traditional rulers Council to mobilise 28 traditional rulers from the zone and he lured them into issuing a statement denouncing zoning in the forthcoming 2021 governorship election.

Obiora Okonkwo bankrolled all he did with 10million naira and Peter Uyanwa was desperate to justify swallowing that 10million.

When they made their publication in national dailies that started raising dust in Anambra State, the leadership of Anambra State traditional rulers Council issued a communique reaffirming their support for zoning in a commendable bid to calm frayed nerves.

The action of the leadership of Anambra State traditional rulers Council paralysed Obiora Okonkwo and he ran to the uncultured political monkey called Arthur Eze and started deceiving him with misinformation.

He also started championing deceived traditional rulers rebellion against the Governor and holding series of rebellion meetings in his palace.

They resorted to giving the false impression that the Governor is coercing traditional rulers to support zoning.

The uncultured political monkey called Arthur Eze being misinformed and deformed foolishly started sponsoring their rebellion meetings.

In one of the videos of the rebellion meeting held at Peter Uyanwa palace, Arthur Eze was inciting the traditional rulers and emboldened them to continue with their rebellion against the Governor.

He even told them that the Governor cannot do them anything and that if he try to do them anything that he will deal with the Governor.

You see why I refer to Arthur Eze as an uncultured political monkey.

Back to my story, Peter Uyanwa and his evil cohorts being emboldened by Arthur Eze to be disrespecting the office of the Governor turned themselves to nuisance in the State.

Holding meetings upon meetings against the Governor and issuing inciting press releases against him.

As all these was happening, only few people know that Peter Uyanwa is doing the evil bidding of Obiora Okonkwo that is from Anambra central.

When all the evil deeds of Peter Uyanwa was brought to the attention of government, he was suspended.

Peter Uyanwa and his evil doers cohorts made foolish attempt to politicise his suspension and Obiano's administration refused to be intimidated with blackmail.

They now came up with what I will call an after thought option and that is agitation for the conduct of local government election, levelling unfounded allegation of embezzlement of local government funds against the Governor, Giving 5percent of local government allocation to traditional rulers and finally, going to report Governor Obiano as a junior secondary school boy to President Buhari his school Principal in Abuja.

Nothing is wrong in their decision to travel to Abuja but as traditional rulers, they are duty bound to inform the government about their movement for security reasons.

The camp of the rebel traditional rulers depleted from 28 to 13.

The uncultured political monkey called Arthur Eze as the co-opted financier of their rebellion against Obiano's administration promised to take them to President Buhari to report Governor Obiano to Buhari.

They travelled to Abuja without notifying government as protocol demands about their movement.

Their action angered the leadership of Anambra State traditional rulers Council and they made recommendation to the Governor for their suspension and the Governor implemented the recommendation.

On getting to Abuja, there plan of meeting President Buhari face to face flopped and they started looking for a face saving measure to take and show that they have the ears of the Presidency.

This time around, they arrived at the conclusion that reporting Governor Obiano to the Presidency will be counter productive.

They now did a 360 degree U turn from their original evil plan and cowardly claim that their mission in Abuja is to congratulate President Buhari for his administration developmental strides in Southeast.

They listed some Federal projects being executed in Anambra without knowing that the State government under Governor Obiano's watch is giving the Federal government the needed cooperation and support for the execution of those projects.

As at the time, the suspended traditional rulers met Buhari Chief of Staff, they are no longer traditional rulers but they claimed to him that they are traditional rulers.

Those that met Prof Gambari, Buhari Chief of Staff are impostors and not traditional rulers.

The reason why they changed their evil plan over night is to pit the Presidency against Governor Obiano by making it look like the Governor is witch hunting them for visiting President Buhari to commend him.

It's important to also say that the President Buhari we Nigerians know very well cannot be hoodwinked by the political gimmicks of impostors.

If Southeast traditional rulers want to pay President Buhari visit to commend him for his good works in Southeast namely, the ongoing Enugu international Airport project, the Enugu Onitsha expressway project, the 2nd Niger bridge, the completed Ziks mausoleum and many others, they will be led by our highly revered Obi of Onitsha, His royal Majesty igwe Alfred Achebe(Agbogidi) for the visit because he doubles as Chairman of Southeast traditional rulers Council and Chairman of Anambra State traditional rulers Council.

President Buhari cannot come down to the level of being portrayed as a President that needs impostors commendation.

Such commendation can be likened to the type of deceitful commendation former President Goodluck Jonathan received in the build up to the 2015 general election and he finally lost the election in a disgraceful manner.

The fact is that the 13 renegade traditional rulers were suspended for their misconduct and flouting of the known protocol of informing government before travelling out of their communities as traditional rulers for security purpose.

There suspension has nothing to do with any commendation of President Buhari good works in Southeast.

Even at that, nobody in Southeast has commended President Buhari for doing well in the region like Governor Obiano and his own commendation is from the depth of his heart.

When you hear them saying that they were suspended for visiting President Buhari Chief of Staff to commend the President for his good works in Southeast ,tell them that they are liars from the pit if hell and that they brought their current predicament upon themselves.

*The major problem with the uncultured political monkey called Arthur Eze and his suspended renegades traditional rulers cohort is that they lack character* .

It is said that men of character are scarce and that assertion is a reality when the disgraceful conduct of the uncultured political monkey called  Arthur Eze and that of his shameless 13 suspended traditional rulers cohort is put into consideration.

The singular reason why the money miss road and uncultured political monkey called Arthur is overheating the polity in connivance with the suspended renegades traditional rulers is because they don't have character.

If they have character, they will not want to be associated with the kind of story people are hearing and telling about them.

Arthur Eze as an uncultured political monkey has an over bloated ego and the highest thing you can do for him is to massage that ego.

The suspended renegades traditional rulers are shameless saboteurs and hungry fools.

The internet is currently awash with story of how Arthur Eze bought Lexus Jeep for them.

As hungry fools, they are celebrating the car online without knowing that they are celebrating liabilities.

They can hardly maintain the car and that makes it useless.

To them, the Lexus Jeep is tantamount to winning lottery and that is because they lack character and can hardly afford to buy it.

The highest thing that has happened to the people of the communities of where the suspended traditional rulers hail from is their suspension because they are unworthy to be Kings in the first place.

My advise to the people of their community is to set the ball rolling for their replacement.

The suspended traditional rulers are a disgrace to their communities and the whole igbo land.

They will later discover that the Lexus Jeeps they are celebrating are  liabilities.

I will spearhead an agitation for their proper removal so that those that are worthy of being Kings in their communities will be crowned as their replacement.

What this shameless traditional rulers has shown the whole World is that they cannot afford to eat 3square meals a day hence the reason why they are following Arthur Eze sheepishly.

At the end of this whole drama, the 13 suspended renegades traditional rulers will realise that the political monkey called Arthur Eze ruined them.

As at today, it's difficult for them to make amends because they have desecrated their throne by foolishly urinating on the throne.

In all this drama, I praise President Buhari for doing the right thing and for confining Arthur Eze were he rightly belongs.

What the suspended traditional rulers did is that they traded their throne for  Lexus Jeeps and they should not complain when the people of their community brings their replacement.

All they wanted to achieve in life is Lexus Jeep and they have gotten what they want at the expense of their throne.

The people of their community does not matter to them hence the reason why they did not care about their security and welfare before travelling out of their domain.

They are not worthy of the future of their people being entrusted in their hands because they are the Judas iscariot of their community and that is why their suspension elicited joy and excitement n their communities.

The suspension of the 13 renegades traditional rulers is still like a film to them and when they face the reality of their suspension, they will regret their actions and blame the uncultured political monkey called Arthur Eze for destroying them.

What is a Blog? – The Definition of Blog, Blogging, and Blogger

what is a blog image
Do you know what a blog is? If you don’t, then you’ve come to the right place. In 1994, when blogs began, a blog was more of a personal diary that people shared online. In this online journal, you could talk about your daily life or share about things that you were doing. Then, people saw an opportunity to communicate information in a new way online. Thus began the beautiful world of blogging.

Table of contents

Today, there are more than 600 million blogs on the web. The number of bloggers in the United States alone is set to reach 31.7 million users by 2020.

What is a Blog?

Definition of blog

A blog (a shortened version of “weblog”) is an online journal or informational website displaying information in the reverse chronological order, with the latest posts appearing first, at the top. It is a platform where a writer or a group of writers share their views on an individual subject.

What is the purpose of a blog?

There are many reasons to start a blog for personal use and only a handful of strong ones for business blogging. Blogging for business, projects, or anything else that might bring you money has a very straightforward purpose – to rank your website higher in Google SERPs, a.k.a. increase your visibility.
As a business, you rely on consumers to keep buying your products and services. As a new business, you rely on blogging to help you get to potential consumers and grab their attention. Without blogging, your website would remain invisible, whereas running a blog makes you searchable and competitive.
So, the main purpose of a blog is to connect you to the relevant audience. Another one is to boost your traffic and send quality leads to your website.
The more frequent and better your blog posts are, the higher the chances for your website to get discovered and visited by your target audience. This means that a blog is an effective lead generation tool. Add a great call to action (CTA) to your content, and it will convert your website traffic into high-quality leads. A blog also allows you to showcase your niche authority and build a brand.
When you use your niche knowledge for creating informative and engaging posts, it builds trust with your audience. Great blogging makes your business look more credible, which is especially important if your brand is still young and fairly unknown. It ensures presence online and niche authority at the same time.

Blog structure

The appearance of blogs has changed over time, and these days blogs include a wide variety of items and widgets. However, most blogs still include some standard features and structure.
Here are common features that a typical blog will include:
  • Header with the menu or navigation bar.
  • Main content area with highlighted or latest blog posts.
  • Sidebar with social profiles, favorite content, or call-to-action.
  • Footer with relevant links like a disclaimer, privacy policy, contact page, etc.
Basic blog structure
The above example is the basic structure of the average blog. Each item has its own importance and helps visitors to navigate through your blog.

Blogs and websites

Many people still wonder if there is any difference between a blog and a website. What is a blog and what is a website? It’s even more challenging to differentiate between the two today. Many companies are integrating blogs into their websites as well, which further confuses the two.

What differentiates blogs from websites?

Blogs need frequent updates. Good examples of this include a food blog sharing meal recipes or a company writing about their industry news.
Blogs also promote reader engagement. Readers have a chance to comment and voice their different concerns and thoughts to the community. On the other hand, websites consist of the content presented on static pages. Static website owners rarely update their pages. Blog owners update their site with new blog posts on a regular basis.
Key elements that identify a blog post from a static website page include a publishing date, author reference, categories, and tags within a byline. While not all blog posts have all of those byline elements, static website pages do not have any of these items. From a visitor perspective, the content on a static site will not change from one visit to the next. However, depending on the blog owner’s publishing schedule, the content on a blog will offer something new each day, week, or month.

What is blogging?

In the early 2000s, blogging emerged in a variety of forms when several political blogs were born. Blogs with how-to manuals also began to appear. Established institutions began to note the difference between journalism and blogging.

Definition of blogging

Blogging is a collection of skills that one needs to run and supervise a blog. This entails equipping a web page with tools to make the process of writing, posting, linking, and sharing content easier on the internet.

Why is blogging so popular?

It’s important to mention that the popularity of blogging grows with each passing day!
To answer the question ‘what is blogging’, we need to look at the factors behind its rise.
In the early stages, blogs became mainstream, as news services began using them as tools for outreach and opinion forming. They became a new source of information.
Why is blogging so popular
Through blogging, businesses saw a positive way to improve their customer’s level of satisfaction. Blogs assist companies in keeping clients and customers up to date. Also, the more people that visit your blog, the more exposure and trust your brand gets.
Personal and niche bloggers saw the potential to reach more people interested in specific topics. Through a blog, visitors can comment and interact with you or your brand which helps you to create a network of loyal followers.
Did you know that you could earn money through blogging? Once your blog receives enough attention and fans, you can investigate ways of monetizing your blog. Through the blog, you can offer your services and sell products.

Who is a blogger?

In recent times, bloggers have become famous for various reasons. Blogging has become an alternative career or side gig to many. Seeing this, even more people are choosing to join the blogging ranks.
So who are bloggers? Bloggers are individuals who love sharing parts of their lives with you. They post on various topics from arts, home designs, carpentry, and finance articles. Bloggers are mobile and don’t need to be in one place. They live on the internet!

Definition of a blogger

A blogger is someone who runs and controls a blog. He or she shares his or her opinion and knowledge on different topics for a target audience.

Why are many people blogging today?

Would you want to have a blog of your own? Yes!
Most people today are creating blogs for a variety of reasons. Every human being has their own story to tell. Through the internet, bloggers can communicate to a massive number of people.
Why is blogging so popular?
Blogs allow you to talk about any topic you are interested in and express your opinion. You’ll find some bloggers writing on every activity that took place during their day. These activities may range from small things like waking up to major issues like human rights and climate change! Remember that as a blogger running your own blog, you need to focus on the topics that you are passionate about and through that focus strive to become one of the best blogs on the web.

Are bloggers getting paid?

Bloggers do earn money, but this is not a get-rich-quick kind of profession. Before you can start monetizing your blog, you need to build both your Google SERPs ranking and your niche influence. Those tasks take a lot of time and quality content. Money-making opportunities won’t present themselves until you’ve gained some credibility in the field. So, get down to business.
Here’s how you can make good money as a top-ranked niche blogger:
  • Selling ad space on your blog privately or via Google AdSense.
  • Becoming an affiliate partner privately or through ad networks.
  • Selling your own digital products such as eBooks and tutorials.
  • Selling memberships for access to exclusive content or advice.
  • Using your blog as a content marketing tool for your business.
If you’re starting a blog as a way to market and boost your existing business, you probably won’t be selling ad space or memberships. However, you can create and start offering exclusive digital products such as eBooks, guides, or online courses as a lead capturing tool in exchange for visitors’ email addresses. That way, you’ll nudge them one step further down your sales funnel.

Want to start a blog on your own?

Creating your own personal blog takes a few steps. First, you need to decide on a name for your blog, also called a domain name. Then, you need to choose the best blogging platform for your needs. We recommend going with a self-hosted platform. There are a few choices when it comes to self-hosted platforms, but the most popular is WordPress.org.
The next step is to choose a web hosting service. For new bloggers, we strongly recommend Bluehost, a company that powers over 2 million websites worldwide. You will get a Free domain name when you sign up with them and if you don’t like their services, they offer a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Disclosure: FirstSiteGuide is supported by our readers. When you purchase through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission. We test and try all the products that we recommend.

Recommended tool:

Type in the desired domain in the “new domain” box and BlueHost will show you whether it’s available or not. If not, it will provide you with a list of similar names for you to choose from.

Conclusion
